Song of Songs bears a special meaning for me, as it inspired my parents to choose my name.
The young woman lies on her bed at night thinking of her beloved, while dawn rises outside the windows. The skyline of Jerusalem at night appears on the left.
This piece is one of a pair.
The fabric in these pieces is a hand-dyed cotton sateen and it is a very prominent part of the quilt. The artwork combines painting with oil-sticks, hand embroidery and machine quilting.
